Friedrich Receives Environmental Excellence Award

San Antonio, TX — Friedrich Air Conditioning, an American manufacturer of energy-efficient windows and specialty air conditioning products, has been recognized for its continuing commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

Friedrich, which operates a 600,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and warehouse facility in San Antonio, has been awarded the San Antonio Water System's (SAWS) top environmental distinction — the Environmental Excellence Award. Recipients of the award must demonstrate best management, water conservation and pollution prevention practices, as well as innovative educational initiatives.

SAWS serves more than one million people in the ninth largest U.S. city. Friedrich was selected for this honor because of recent changes it has made to its paint processing system. The new paint process Friedrich has implemented is an ecologically friendly powder coat process, which virtually eliminates waste, decreases water treatment requirements and uses less water than the previous system.
