Affiliated Distributors (A-D) held its Spirit of Independence Awards ceremony for the Plumbing PVF and HVAC Divisions on Oct. 20, 2009.

Held annually in conjunction with A-D's North American Meeting, the Spirit of Independence Awards identify individual affiliates and suppliers who have excelled in marketing, performance and/or leadership.

“Each year, affiliates and suppliers alike embrace the North American Meeting with great enthusiasm and this year was no different,” says Roy Weaks, senior vice president of the PHCP Division. “In spite of the economy, member turnout was tremendous, as they met to plan for the upcoming year while also enjoying networking time. The Spirit of Independence Awards gives us, as an organization, the chance to recognize our top performers in several areas.”

The prestigious Affiliate of the Year and Supplier of the Year Awards were once again presented to recognize excellence in performance and leadership.

Marketing awards were presented for Best Annual Planning Process, Best Conversion to an A-D Supplier and Supplier of the Year — Marketing Excellence.

The highlight of the ceremony was the MVP Award, presented by Affiliated Distributors' CEO Bill Weisberg. This award recognizes outstanding effort from the people on the front lines who contribute to the overall welfare of their company and the group.

Congratulations to the 2009 HVAC Division's award winners listed below:

  • Affiliate of the Year, HVAC — N.B. Handy Company
