American Air Distributing Inc. has signed an agreement with Johnson Controls Inc. (NYSE: JCI) to become a distributor of its Luxaire® and Coleman® brand products, effective Jan. 1, 2010.

“Innovation and product leadership are two of the major reasons we made this transition,” says Bob Frank, president, and a 30-year veteran of the HVACR industry.

“The industry is rapidly changing. As a distributor, it's important to recognize which manufacturers offer products for the future,” Frank says. “When we looked at all the innovations the Luxaire® and Coleman® brands offer and the weight and influence that Johnson Controls bring to promoting those brands, it was clear that we found a manufacturer with a vision that exceeded our expectations.”

Gary Mummert, regional sales manager for Johnson Controls, says, “American Air enjoys a great reputation for customer service and we are proud to welcome them into our family of distribution. Their business model complements our market share growth and customer service initiatives. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship together.”

Located in a suburb of Philadelphia, American Air services contractors in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland, serving 33 counties and covering a radius of more than 100 miles.

American Air was founded in May 1994 with a mission to become recognized as the premier wholesale distributor of heating and air-conditioning equipment and related supplies within the HVAC industry. The focus is to offer high quality HVAC products through a dealer organization whose focus is primarily the replacement market, including residential, light commercial and custom new homes.
