The Charles D. Jones Company, Kansas City, MO, has opened a new North Kansas City Main Store and Warehouse. The company has also launched a new online ordering system. The opening of the new store and warehouse now gives the company 17 branch locations within the Colorado, Kansas and Missouri markets.

“We are pleased to be able to grow our business through experience and smart management, and through the implementation of the latest and most efficient technology, like our new online ordering system,” said Jones Company President Royce Henderson.

The Jones Company is a premier, full-line distributor of HVACR controls, control systems, equipment and supplies, representing more than 300 manufacturers with more than 10,000 line items. In August 2009, the company celebrated 70 years as an HVACR industry leader in distribution, customer service and technical support.

Founder Charlie Jones began in the service business in Kansas City in 1939. He was one of a handful of men around the country at that time who sensed the need for wholesale distribution of heating supplies, so he set up shop as a distributor with three employees and a modest inventory. His hunch was right. Contractors preferred to buy wholesale from one knowledgeable source. The system presented important efficiencies, and the business grew. In 1972, the employee-owned company expanded its operations westward, opening a branch in Denver and soon after expanding throughout Colorado.
