Rheem Water Heaters Meet New Energy Star Criteria

Article Tools

Rheem Manufacturing Company is one of the newest Energy Star partners, providing water heaters in every product category that safeguard the environment, save consumers money and meet stringent Energy Star criteria. Virtually all of Rheem’s tankless models and many of its storage tank-type units qualify for the new program, which the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) made effective on January 1, 2009.

Energy Star criteria for water heaters are expected to save Americans approximately $780 million in utility costs, avoid 4.2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions and achieve cumulative energy savings of more than 3.9 kilowatt-hours and 270 million therms of natural gas over the next five years, according to DOE projections.

Additional details on this newest facet of the Energy Star program and Rheem's compliance with it, including photography, can be found at http://www.lncmail.com/pr09/rh0920/energystar.html
